It’s been eight years since the United States overthrew the Taliban in Afghanistan. After free elections and beginnings of a functional national government it looked as if some form of democracy might take root in Afghanistan. But given the now daily terrorist attacks and rising violence in Kabul, have these hopes died? What is the American endgame for Afghanistan? How should the U.S. be dealing with Pakistan and its destabilizing effects on the region? And finally, how will events in Afghanistan shape the 2010 mid-term elections and the race to the White House in 2012?
These are some of the questions we will explore at the second annual Windsor Speakers Series.
