Ian Bremmer is president of Eurasia Group, the leading global political risk research and consulting firm. His career spans academic, investment, and policymaking communities, with a focus on global emerging markets. Bremmer’s work to define the business of politics has accordingly focused on making political science relevant to the global marketplace.
Bremmer created Wall Street’s first global political risk index, and has authored several books, including the international bestseller, The End of the Free Market: Who Wins the War Between States and Corporations?, and The J Curve: A New Way to Understand Why Nations Rise and Fall, which was selected by The Economist as one of the best books of 2006. Bremmer is a contributor for the Wall Street Journal, and has published articles in the Washington Post, The New York Times, Newsweek, Harvard Business Review, and Foreign Affairs.
Ian Bremmer has a PhD in political science from Stanford University, and was the youngest-ever national fellow at the Hoover Institution. In 2007, he was named a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum. He presently teaches at Columbia University.
